Long layover Pike Place Market guide

Usually I hate long layovers, but this time I managed to spend a nice 9 hour layover in Seattle. You know that there is no option to check-in your baggage more than 3 hours prior your flight, but it doesn’t matter at this airport because there is luggage storage, they charge you $8 per small suitcase and $10 per big one, so I ended up paying $30 after tax but it was worth it because I found the best place outside the airport to spend few hours. Why would I call it the best place? First of all it’s really easy to access, you just need to take the LYNK Train from the Airport to Westlake station and it takes 40 minutes to get there, then you have to walk 10 minutes straight from the station to reach the market, I just asked for the direction. And this place combines all great things in the world such as coffee, mac n’ cheese, flowers, modern art..

So this is what I recommend to do at the market.

1. Take a picture in front of the huge Public Market sign.

2. Try the FREE samples, such as greek yogurt, cheese curds, fish candy, pepper jelly, mac n’ cheese, fresh cut fruit and many more..

3. Go see the Famous Gum wall (now there are two) and leave your gum behind to become a part of the modern piece of art.

4. Get a cup of coffee from the First Starbucks.

5. Buy some flowers (they are so cheap) or just smell them.

6.Watch and listen to all the musicians.

7. Catch a fish at the Fish market or just watch how vendors throw and catch slimy fish, definitely fun to watch.

8. Drop some change into the big golden piggy bank for good luck.

9. Eat a delicious piroshky at Piroshky, piroshky.
